Dreamgirls

August 5 - 28, 2022 (Fri, Sat 8pm; Sun 2:30pm)

Inspired by Motown and R&B legends of the 1960s-70s, Dreamgirls follows the rising stardom of the Dreamettes, an all-girl singing trio from Chicago. The three best friends team up with a driven, demanding manager who is determined to see their—and his—star rise. As their careers begin to take off, changes are made to ensure their mass appeal to the pop market. Egos are bruised, tempers flare, and hearts are broken in pursuit of stardom. Dreamgirls is a love letter to American R&B music and the artists that make such music great.

THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY

February 24 - March 12, 2023 (Fri, Sat 8pm; Sun 2:30pm)

Music and Lyrics by Jason Robert Brown
Book by Marsha Norman
Based on the novel by Robert James Waller

The Bridges of Madison County captures the lyrical expanse of American’s heartland along with the yearning entangled in the eternal question, “What if…?” In this story Francesca Johnson, a beautiful Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-ravaged Italy, looks forward to a rare four days alone on her Iowa farm when her family heads to the 1965 State Fair. When a ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer, Robert Kincaid, pulls into her driveway seeking directions, what happens in those four days may very well alter the course of Francesca's life. This soaring score and heartbreaking story are a touching and powerful addition to our season and a tour de force for our leading couple.

This show contains some adult themes.

THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
